When it comes to desserts, we hardly give up on our regular recipe favorites! Caramel pudding is an elegant and scrumptious delicacy that is an essential in our dessert table. This quick recipe can be prepared with the ingredients at hand and trust me, it could be even done at a beginner level. Caramel pudding is a creamy dessert that will please both kids and adults. So, enjoy this luscious holiday dessert and trust me, this will definitely want you eating more as it’s absolutely delicious!

  • Condensed Milk 1 tin (390 g)
  • Water 1 tin
  • Eggs (medium) 5
  • A pinch salt (optional)
  •  Vanilla essence 2 tsps.
  • White sugar 3 tbsps.
  • Water 3 tbsps.

Place the sugar in a saucepan with water (3 tbsp.) and heat it till the liquid turns golden brown. Make sure that you don’t burn the liquid. Upon preparing the caramel, you may immediately remove it from heat and pour it on to a bowl that has been rubbed with some butter. You will leave it aside to cool off. Take a separate bowl and pour in the condensed milk and water. Start beating the mixture while adding eggs one by one. You may now heat it on top of a stove and keep stirring and do not let it boil over. Remove it from the stove and add vanilla and a pinch of salt to the mixture. You may now transfer this mixture to the prepared bowl with caramel at the bottom. Cover the top of this bowl with a lid or a tin foil and place it in the steamer. You may stem it for around 50 minutes and let cool off for a while. Then, refrigerate the pudding overnight. Alternatively you can also bake the pudding on a baking tray which is kept on another tray filled with water. You may bake the pudding uncovered for 60 minutes at 170 0C. Once the pudding is cooked/ baked, you can keep it aside to cool off for a few minutes and refrigerate overnight. When you serve, you may turn it out on to a plate.
